Axis 360 App Reviews

Horrible app

Using bc some audiobooks from library only work on this. Doesnt remember place so have to keep starting over. Its awful

Does not remember place during playback

Search feature works ok. Does not remember place in the audiobook when you pause or stop listening. You must manually add a bookmark to save your place. The app should handle this automatically. Please fix this! Requires way too many button clicks to start playing from where you left off in previous audiobook. Performance isnt great on iPhone 6. Seen several crashes during playback.

Cant remember my place

Using this app for audiobooks for the first time, and gritting my teeth. Every time I leave the app and come back, it forgets my place and I have to spend 5 minutes getting back to where I left off. Too bad the libraries cant find a better platform.

Just keeps getting worse!!!

This app is good for searching titles. THATs IT! I previously gave a review stating needs improvement about a year ago but has potential. No improvement - IT JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE!!! In the last month its failed to open or encountered an error about 30% of the time. When it finally opens and gets to "my stuff" after as much as 5 minutes of waiting (Ive timed it!) for it to connect which it shouldnt have to do bc the books have already been downloaded to my device, I wonder why Im not just getting actual books and books on cd from the library - much easier! Its unnecessarily cumbersome. It often defaults back to the opening screen instead of your book if you switch to another app, check a text, etc. Each time it does this it requires wifi or cell service and prevents book access. On a plane? Better open your book before takeoff and keep it open or youll not have access until landing! This app is just plain annoying. Once it opens at the first screen, it takes multiple clicks to get back to your book - even when you dont close the app and were just reading a few minutes ago. And recently some update occurred where the one nice feature - showing where you stood in the hold cue - is now gone unless you click on rack book individually. EVERYTHING in this app requires starting over, clicking, and lots of waiting! WHY? Ive downloaded books to my device. I shouldnt have to connect to any server and wait 5 minutes for the boom to pull up when I had it open 3 minutes before! Fixing these issues would be an enormous improvement but Im thinking its beyond the developers ability given these issues have persisted for many months and are getting worse.

No WiFi - No Read

To the few reviewers who are having a five star experience, lucky you. For those of you who assume the rest of us dont know what were doing - well maybe we do and you just got lucky. The average of 2 stars might indicate its more than folks needing to be accurate. The information may be inaccurate for YOU, but I recognize a lot of the problems they are having, although not all. That doesnt mean theyre not having them. I can download books from my local library, no problem but I cannot read them without WiFi which rather makes a nonsense of the whole idea of having this app. As I live in a place which is far too often without internet, this is a major problem for me.

Doesnt work.

The app doesnt work at all. It continues to show error messages when Im trying to login even after reinstalling. There are much better alternatives out there.

This app is unusable.

Does not remember where in the book you left off; randomly goes back to the beginning of the book; cannot fast forward in order to find ones place again. Crashes, loses data. This is the worst app Ive ever used. Makes listening to audiobooks borrowed from library impossible. Please libraries, use a different app!

Dreadful, buggy, but the only option for most

Ive used this app multiple times a day for the past year and a half, on two different carriers and three different devices. Its an exercise in absurdity and lousy user experiences. If you havent had problems yet, just wait. In audio, the app doesnt keep your place when running in the background. If you pause the reading to answer a call or do anything else, woe betide you. It will occasionally play some kind of screechy, distorted version of the audio. And theres the "no audio at all when playing" bug. Earbuds, Bluetooth, built in speaker all work for other audio - but not for the book at any volume. The solution? Reinstall. The newest bug has been regular crashing, inability to access network (wifi and cellular) and inability to access library credentials. Sometimes this happens mid-commute, when Im listening on my way to work. Again? The solution is to reinstall. Im tied to the app, though, unfortunately. Its the only option my library offers.

Terrible

**update, the update did not fix anything The app loads the main page every time before opening the books, if it cant load it you cant get into the book. I also crashes frequently and loses your place when it crashes. I am currently writing this review because I cant get into the book for the 3rd day this week.

Frustrating is an understatement

Launch the program and wait 4 minutes while we "configure your library wall" if you think Im exaggerating, I literally timed it before I terminated the program. I cant understand why I have to connect to a network and configure a wall before I am even given the option of looking at something that Ive already downloaded. Zero stars if I could.

unconscionably slow

There is no good reason for this app to take so long to load the book it has allegedly already downloaded, and it is infuriating to have to wait for the main page to load when all you want to do is get back to reading your book … especially when it has been only moments since you set it down.

Worthless

I am another person who does not usually write reviews for apps. But I have to chime in. I used to like the app, and didnt have major issues. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. I cannot even get into the app to use it. It just keeps saying updating, no longer how long I try to wait. Repeatedly have tried to reboot the phone, we both the app, etc. I am connected to Wi-Fi. I know what Im doing. Its obviously the app.

Appalling, abhorrent, utterly useless

Words cannot express the depth of my absolute hatred for this app. You logon, it says your ID and password are wrong. You go to browse, your ID and password are wrong. You go to read a book which you have already downloaded...your ID and password are wrong. Oh! But if you go to airplane mode, you can read books that you have already miraculously managed to download. But if your wifi isnt perfect? Say for instance...you are at a public library with free wifi? Your ID and password are wrong. There is nothing good about this app. You can try deleting it, re-entering your ID and PIN, even performing witchcraft - it still wont work. I wish there was a way for the library staff and administration to listen to patrons - Axis 360 is the most inconsistent, exhausting and frustrating piece of software to ever exist...and yes, I am including Windows 98. I would like to say that this is just me, and just my library...unfortunately, it is not. I have two libraries on Axis 360...the results are equally appalling... To any library anywhere...if you want people to STOP READING, use Axis 360. If you would like to increase literacy anywhere among anyone? Go elsewhere... Quite frankly, if given the choice between having herpes and using this app, Id rather have the Drs appointment... seriously. Seriously.

Worst Ever

Ive never cared enough to come back and leave a review for an app, but this time I feel compelled. So many things about this app are annoying, chief of which is that you have to go through SO many steps to resume reading your book, even if you only stepped away for a second to respond to a text message or some other small task. The fact that it has to reload your entire library page, and slowly at that, each time adds to the aggravation. Reading through some of the other poor reviews - I second all their complaints.

Bad app

It stinks thats my only description I havent even done anything and I abhor it

Not as good as Overdrive

This program is OK but it is buggy and has an awkward interface. Overdrive is a much better program. I use it primarily for audiobooks. Cons: - It constantly looses your place in an audiobook - It tries to go online immediately so getting to your book without wifi takes a few to many steps - The feature to speed up the audio has no indication of how fast its going so you have to guess and cycle through all the speeds - The feature to speed up the audio seems to "clip" the words making it difficult to understand. Overdrive does a much better job of this - The search feature is very limited. Overdrive has an advanced search feature that allows you to pinpoint exactly what you want. Pros: - It looks pretty. The graphics are nice - It has a different selection of books from our local library than overdrive does. Thats the only reason I use this inferior product. Ill be upset if they take overdrive away.

Compared to other audio book players this is awful

I use Overdrive and One Click Digital and compared to these this player is horrible. Every time you pause the book the player must attach to the server to restart. If you are out of range to the Network you can not start the app. One morning I could not listen to my book for several hours because server would not respond. The restart process is also slow which makes this even more intolerable. The user interface is also cumbersome. It is difficult to get an overall picture of where you are in the book. All in all a horrible app

So frustrating.

This app is literally the worst. Ridiculously slow, when it works at all, and full of glitches. I have never experienced this level of frustration with any app.

Boo hoo!!!

My library switched to this app for audiobooks and IT DOESNT WORK! Wont keep my place, gets stuck, slow to load, the list goes on. Would rate it lower if I could.

Atrocious

Works on occasion. The usual fix is to delete and reload. My fix is to go to a neighboring library system with I decent app.
